On Saturday, July 28th 2012 the Hasbrouck Heights NJ Fire Department was dispatched to Route 17 South at Williams St for a reported tractor trailer fire. First arriving units found a fully involved tractor trailer which had struck a commercial building during a collision killing the driver. Exterior operations were quickly put into place as fire impinged on the upper floors. Crews quickly entered the 1st and 2nd floors to contain extension with the help of sprinklers which were already activated. The truck was found to be carrying roofing materials and Bergen County Haz-Mat was special called.
