8-12-06 - Jersey City 2nd Alarm - 52 Orchard Street On Saturday August 12th 2006 the Jersey City NJ Fire Department responded to 52 Orchard St at the corner of Monticello Ave for a reported fire. Prior to arrival, first due units called a working fire as fire was visible out the 2nd floor windows on an end-unit apartment. Initial reports stated that occupants were trapped however all were removed by F.D. Aggressive attacks with several lines rapidly knocked down the heavy fire. A 2nd alarm was requested and assisted with the auto-exposed fire on the 3rd floor. The fire was placed under control shortly thereafter and the cause of the fire is under investigation as it’s reported suspicious in origin.
