On Saturday August 2nd 2008 Firefighters in the Union Ave firehouse (engine-2) were alerted by civilians of a possible fire across the street from quarters. Engine 2 confirmed a 2nd floor single room fire in a 2sty mixed occupancy (residential over funeral home). The 1st alarm box was filled out but the fire was knocked down with the first line before the companies could finish responding. There were no injuries.
