09-02-09 - Moonachie 3rd Alarm - 48 Austin St

On Wednesday, September 2nd 2009 the Moonachie NJ Fire Department responded to 48 Austin St in the Metropolitan Trailer Park on a reported problem with a boiler. Units reported a working fire on arrival and requested mutual aid as they found a fully involved trailer home extending into similar exposures. A 2nd alarm responded and shortly thereafter a 3rd alarm to assist with manpower. The fire consumed 3 trailer homes and badly damaged a 4th. One firefighter was transported with non-life threatening injuries.
