On Sunday, November 1st 2009 the West Caldwell NJ Fire Department responded to 139 Mountain Ave on a reported female setting a house on fire during a domestic dispute. Police and fire units arrived to find heavy fire consuming the first floor and auto exposing into the 2nd of 1.5sty wood frame. Mutual aid was requested as crews attempted to place hand lines into service. With rapidly deteriorating conditions and poor water sources, companies were withdrawn from the building and additional mutual aid was requested. Several firefighters were treated for rehab however there were no injuries reported.
