On Sunday July 15th 2007 shortly before 7am the Bogota NJ Fire Department responded to 112 Oakwood Ave on a reported house fire. On arrival companies quickly called a 2nd alarm when they were met with heavy fire showing from all 1st floor windows. Several lines were quickly put into operation and crews attempted to make the 1st fl. While conducting interior operations, portions of the 2nd floor began to collapse into the 1st floor. Crews were quickly ordered out of the building and to set up exterior operations. <p> 2 Firefighters were transported to area hospitals for non-life threatening injuries and the cause of the fire was unknown at the time of this writing. <p> It should be remembered that shortly after this fire, Firefighter Stephen Dembski of the Ridgefield Park NJ Fire Department passed away of a sudden heart attack.
