On Sunday, December 27th, 2009 the Bloomfield NJ Fire Department responded to 20 Wagner St off of Watchung Ave for a reported house fire. Companies arrived to find heavy fire in the basement of a 2sty 40x30 private dwelling. As crews put hand lines into operations, company chauffeurs found a dead hydrant. A 2nd alarm was requested and incoming units obtained hydrants on the way in. <p> Crews were able to knock down the fire in the basement as well as the 1st fl extension before additional damage could be done. There were no reported injuries.
