On Tuesday, June 23rd 2009 the Lodi NJ Fire Department responded to 199 Garibaldi Avenue on a reported fire. Companies arrived to find heavy fire blowing through the roof of a vacant 200x300 irregular shaped, 2sty vacant chemical warehouse. The fire consumed the roof as it initially started in the rear and worked its way towards the front of the building over the course of the night. Extensive mutual aid was requested for relocation, manpower, and to assist with over 1 mile of 5” hose which was needed to established a reliable water supply. Several homes were evacuated due to the drifting smoke and as the night went on numerous towns began chasing smoke complaints. <p> Several firefighters received minor injuries.
