On Friday, February 27th 2009 the Cliffside Park NJ Fire Department was dispatched to 770 Anderson Avenue on a reported fire. First arriving units found heavy smoke pushing from an 8th floor corner apartment in a 22sty apartment building. With residents not evacuating and the fire extending into adjacent apartments, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th alarms were requested within minutes of each other. Interior crews quickly knocked down fire in the original apartment and shortly thereafter in the exposure apartments before additional extension could be made. Several residents and one police officer were transported to area hospitals for evaluation.
