On Wednesday May 30th 2007 shortly before midnight the Paterson NJ Fire Department responded to 95 Market St on reported smoke coming from a building. Initial units reported smoke coming from the basement of a 4sty mixed occupancy building which was attached on both sides by similar structures. Interior crews located a large volume of fire towards the rear of the building which was separated on the 1st fl as a rear storefront. Due to high heat conditions and irregular building construction, command requested a 2nd alarm. Aggressive operations in the rear of the building made it possible to maintain the fire to the rear section with minimal extension to the 1st floor. The fire was placed under control within an hour or so with no reported injuries.
