On Saturday evening, December 1st 2007 the North Hudson Regional Fire and Rescue responded to 808 11th St off of Kennedy Blvd for a fire alarm activation. On arrival companies had residents running out of a 2 buildings and reported fire through the roof. A 2nd alarm was requested on arrival of the chief. Fire originated on the 1st floor and quickly spread through all floors and through the roof both 2 buildings. The reported address was a 3sty 20x60 mixed occupancy and the involved exposure was a 2sty 20x60 mixed occupancy. Due to heavy fire conditions, damage was sustained on 4 surrounding properties as well.

Blue flames could be seen later in the fire venting from 2nd floor windows indicating heavy gas problems within the building. Crews operated with exterior lines for several hours before the fire was darkened down.
