03-21-09 - North Caldwell Working Fire - 28 Maywood Ct

On Saturday afternoon, March 21st 2009 the North Caldwell NJ Fire Department responded to 28 Maywood Court on a reported house fire. Before even leaving headquarters, members were able to see visible smoke confirming the job. On arrival, crews put 2 lines quickly into operation as a fully involved kitchen fire was quickly spreading to the rest of the house. An aggressive interior attack held back the fire without spreading through the upper floor. The fire originated in a 2nd floor rear kitchen in a large 2sty modernized type 50x40 private dwelling. <p> Mutual aid from Fairfield and West Caldwell were brought into the scene as additional mutual aid covered the houses. There were minor injuries sustained to the legs of one firefighter during overhaul.
