Shortly before 8am on Sunday, December 14th 2008 the Hackensack NJ Fire Department responded to the area of Park and Berry Streets on a reported fire. First due units called a 2nd alarm on arrival when they came upon a fully involved 2.5sty 2-family vacant dwelling. Crews attempted to gain entry with a 2.5" handline but were withdrawn due to rapidly deteriorated conditions.
Exterior operations were conducted as mutual aid and reserve companies staffed by shift change personnel arrived to assist. Radiant heat damage was sustained to the neighboring dwelling. There were no reported injuries.
