On Friday, January 22nd 2010 the Paterson NJ Fire Department responded to 450 Market St near Rosa Parks Blvd on a reported fire. First arriving units reported heavy fire blowing out the rear of a 3sty 40x60 OMD. Companies began placing hand lines into operation as secondary units discovered dead hydrants. Compounded with fire extending into a cockloft with multiple roofs, a 2nd alarm was requested. Crews were withdrawn from the building for a short period of time so ladder pipes could knock down fire that was inaccessible by interior crews. One resident was transported for smoke inhalation.
