On Saturday, October 13th 2012 the Passaic NJ Fire Department responded to 215 Van Houten Ave on a reported fire. First arriving units reported heavy fire in the basement of a 2.5sty 40x30 private dwelling. A 2nd alarm was quickly called and lines put into place.
Interior crews reported that they were making good progress holding the fire in the basement additional manpower began venting and checking for extension. The fire was brought PWH shortly thereafter with no spread outside the basement. There were no reported injuries.
