10-21-05 - Paramus Overturned Tanker - Route 17 North Ridgewood Ave Ramp At approximately 935am on Friday, October 21st 2005, the Paramus NJ Fire Department responded to the Route 17 North ramp to Ridgewood Avenue East after 9-1-1 calls reported an overturned truck. Upon arrival, companies found an overturned 8,000 galon home fuel oil tanker overturned and leaking product. Quick response from local haz-mat units and the town DPW with large amounts of sand, firefighters were able to contain the spill before any additional contamination could be made. Mutual aid haz-mat teams from Bergen County, Garfield and Fairlawn responded to assist. The driver of the truck was treated for minor injuries and released on scene. No other injuries were reported.
