On November 9th, 2014 the Paterson NJ Fire Department responded to the area of Godwin Ave and Straight St on a reported fire. First arriving units called a 2nd alarm immediately when confronted with a fully involved dwelling already entering exposures. The original fire building was already collapsing by the time 2nd alarm companies could arrive.

A 4th alarm was called shortly after as fire was now in 3 additional 3sty frames. Crews were evacuated from the fire buildings briefly so exterior lines could darken heavy fire. Crews were able to re-enter and contain the fire before extending to additional homes.
