4-03-04 - Paterson Fatal General Alarm - 77 Putnam St - A fatal fire located at 77 Putnam St in Paterson (cross of River St). Cause of fire still being determined. Firefighters arrived to find heavy fire in two 2sty 2-family homes. 2 children were removed from 77 Putnam and transported to St. Josephs Hospital in Paterson. 1 was pronounced DOA, 2nd was critical (as of 0530hrs). Fire reached a General Alarm which is 7 engines and 3 trucks with mutual aid departments for cover assignments only. No other injuries were reported. Fire involved 2 buildings, and effected 2 more. Several residents displaced. Note: Photos taken under heavy rain conditions.
