Shortly after 1am on Thursday November 29th 2007 the Jersey City NJ Fire Department responded to 141 Newark Ave on a reported fire. On arrival companies had heavy smoke and fire visible from the top floors of a 4sty vacant commercial with attached exposures. A 2nd alarm was shortly called after arrival and subsequent 3rd and 4th alarms. Crews Maintained the body of fire to the center of the original building and additional alarm companies operated on the street to the rear of the building. Crews were eventually removed from the building to ladder pipes and multi-versals could operate from outside. The fire was placed under control near 4am.
