On Monday September 1st 2008 the Clifton NJ Fire Department responded to 29 Sade St on a reported fire. Companies found smoke showing from the basement of a 2.5sty 25x50 2-family wood frame. Interior crews had heavy smoke and heat which hampered them in locating the seat of the fire. Once knocked down, it was discovered that the fire has already burned through the floors and made its way to the upper floors.
A dead hydrant in front of the fire building and quickly advancing fire required a 2nd alarm and additional lines. Crews eventually evacuated the fire building as fire consumed the attic. Exterior operations were put into place and the balance of the fire was knocked down.
