On Friday, March 8th 2013 shortly after 10am the Totowa NJ Fire Department responded to 100 Greene Ave on a reported fire. First arriving units requested a 2nd alarm when met with fire venting out all first floor windows in a 2sty private dwelling. With fire extending to the 2nd floor, crews quickly put 2 hand lines into operation as mutual aid was enroute. Faced with manpower and water issues compounded with heavy snow conditions, crews were able to knock down the fire in a short amount of time. One homeowner received smoke inhalation but there were no other injuries.
