On Tuesday March 25th 2014 the Paterson NJ Fire Department responded for multiple calls reporting a building fire at 170 Dixon Ave. First arriving companies found heavy fire venting out 2nd floor windows of a 2.5sty vacant dwelling with an exposure problem. Due to exposures and hydrant issues a 2nd alarm was requested. Companies conducted exterior operations on the original fire building to darken the heavy fire and then attempted to gain entry. While trying to make headway additional crews began to knock down extension on Exposure D. Crews were later withdrawn from the original building as fire began to tear through the attic and through the roof. Another round of exterior operations were conducted to darken fire before the final interior work was done.

There were no reported injuries.
