8-11-05 - Paterson 3rd Alarm - 71 Garfield Ave Paterson Fire Department responded to 71 Garfield Ave shortly before 4am on August 11th and found heavy fire running the rear of a 2.5sty wood multi-family frame. Fire was already making it's way into an exposure on the arrival of Battalion 2 thus a 2nd alarm was requested. With fire already extending into the cocloft of exposure 2 and the wall of exposure 4, Deputy 2 - Chief Muccio requested a 3rd alarm. Large lines and a brief exterior attack to knock down the original building brought the fire under control by 0510hrs. There were no reported injuries and several families were displaced.
