8-03-05 - Jersey City 5th Alarm - Neptune Ave & Old Bergen Rd Jersey City Fire Department was requested to the area of Neptune Ave and Old Bergen Rd shortly after 1630hrs on Wednesday August 3rd for a report of smoke in the area. Upon arrival, companies found a fully involved 3sty frame exposed into 4 properties, 2 of which were on opposite streets. A 3rd alarm was requested on arrival to stop the extension going down each street. It was reported that a transformer fire had ignited the fire which quickly damaged 7 buildings. A total of 5 alarms which included outside city companies was required to bring the fire under control. Several firefighters were injured although none were reported to be life threatening.
