5-14-06 - Paterson All Hands - Birch St. On Mothers Day, May 14th the Paterson NJ Fire Department was waived down by a civilian who reported smoke in the area of Birch St and Preekness Ave. First due Engine-8 located a well involved 2.5sty 60X40 private dwelling which was currently vacant on the dead end of Birch St. Aggressive attacks with the primary lines quickly knocked down a major portion of the fire before exterior operations were needed. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
